Protecting the environment that sustains pastoralist life
We work with communities to protect communal rangelands, restore ecosystems, and improve access to water. Through land-use planning, tenure security, climate adaptation, and environmental conservation, we help pastoralists safeguard the natural resources that sustain their mobility, identity, and resilience

Protecting Land, Water, and Rangelands
Pastoralist livelihoods depend on healthy land, water, and rangelands — yet these resources are increasingly threatened by climate change, commercial pressures, and weak governance.
Our work focuses on safeguarding communal grazing areas, restoring degraded lands, and improving access to water through climate-smart solutions. We engage communities in participatory land-use planning, strengthen communal tenure systems, and support the rehabilitation of water sources such as boreholes, dams, and seasonal rivers.
By restoring ecosystems and protecting shared resources, we help pastoralists sustain mobility, reduce conflict, and build long-term resilience
Climate Adaptation & Environmental Stewardship
Pastoralists have always adapted to environmental change, but today’s climate pressures demand new tools, stronger institutions, and coordinated action.
We work with communities to promote drought preparedness, rotational grazing, and rangeland restoration practices that blend traditional knowledge with modern adaptation strategies.
Through ecological monitoring, early warning systems, and community-led conservation, we support pastoralists to protect biodiversity, regenerate grazing lands, and manage resources sustainably. This approach ensures that people, livestock, and nature can thrive together in increasingly unpredictable environments.
